Thank you for your interest in the Atlanta Center for Couple Therapy

Thank you for contacting the Atlanta Center for Couple Therapy.  As indicated, our appointment calendar is full. Below are a few resources to help you get to effective EFT therapy elsewhere:

  1. The book, Hold Me Tight, by Dr. Sue Johnson is recommended reading for all the couples with whom I work.  It offers a way to understand relationship conflict from the science of Attachment theory.  I have had many couples come into therapy saying that after reading Hold Me Tight, they wanted to begin EFT therapy.  I’ve had other couples that during EFT therapy, began reading the book and things shifted for them noticeably.

  2. Two colleagues and I present a 2-day Intensive Workshop based on Hold Me Tight.  To learn about the workshop and our schedule, please visit www.holdmetightweekends.com.  Many of my EFT colleagues refer their couples to our workshop and we often have couples that are working with us attend.  It is a great way to get traction in your relationship work.  Please check out our website if you’re curious about how this workshop may help you.

  3. There is a recently published EFT Workbook entitled, An Emotionally Focused Workbook for Couples: The Two of Us, by Veronica Kallos-Lilly and Jennifer Fitzgerald. The authors, both Certified EFT Supervisors, have crafted a very readable, step-by-step, self-help guide for couples.  There are worksheets with simple directions and “fill in blanks” questionnaires to share with your partner.  I also recommend this workbook to couples that work with me, understanding that “homework assignments” can sometimes end up being “failure experiences.”  For couples with a real determination to use the workbook, it an be very helpful! One of my couples sprang out of impasse with one of the exercises they did at home.

  4. ACEFT, the Atlanta Center for Emotionally Focused Therapy, is a non-profit organization of EFT therapists in and around the Metro Atlanta area.  We are dedicated to advancing the delivery of excellent Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples in Atlanta and the Southeast.  On our website, www.eftatlanta.com, there is a Therapist Directory that lists our members and information about their practices.  I invite you to scroll through our member EFT therapists to see if there is one near you.

Thank you again for your interest in EFT.  Your interest in EFT reflects your commitment to your relationship and I believe that investigating EFT options is a great step toward recovery.
